Choreographic Collision
Choreographic Collision is a creative research project focused on the body and its possibilities. It operates as an evolving artistic inquiry, with collaborators varying according to the needs of each project.
This research is centered on three core aims: to connect, to research, and to develop.
Connect
The goal is to communicate with people from different places, ages, social backgrounds, and beliefs, offering them experiences, feelings, and ideas they may not have encountered before. The work seeks to understand the needs, fears, hopes, and thoughts of diverse groups of people. Through this understanding, it researches what the body, as a medium for communication and connection, can provide to improve one’s relation to the world.
Research
In the aim for deeper connection, the project is dedicated to finding appropriate and effective tools. It seeks to create experiences with the power to change people—to make them react, transform, question, think, talk, and feel. This requires careful research into methods, techniques, approaches, and aesthetics.
The research produces various performances across different formats, lengths, and aesthetics, designed for different environments and audiences. Each piece is documented and studied to understand the impact and how it aligns with the initial intent.
Develop
Through this process, the project aims to develop a collection of languages and tools that aid in creating strong messages and communicating effectively. There is a special interest in developing movement in relation to other media, such as spoken word, light, new technologies, and everyday objects.
This research is open to new proposals, collaborations, and shared inquiry. If you have an idea to share, please make contact.
